I never wanted a blog. Never.
Don't get me wrong, I love to read other people's blogs. But why would anyone outside of my immediate circle of friends and family want to be privy to my thoughts or happenings? I, being an over-sharer at times, sometimes make those in my circle a little TOO privy. Some of you in that circle know what I mean :)
However, here I am. Doing what I never thought I'd do.
Why? Because God has set my family on a path that I actually couldn't imagine being on.
Adoption.
Don't get me wrong, Jason and I talked about adoption for years, but it is one of those things that always seems far off in the future. You know what I mean, the "someday we'll _______." The something that you'd like to see happen. That could potentially happen. Something that would be amazing to do. But truly when it gets down to it, you can't picture that day actually arriving, and you aren't really sure if the timing and/or resources will ever work out to make it actually happen.
But here we are. Adopting. God spoke to both of our hearts this summer that the time wasn't someday any longer, it was NOW. We both heard it. We both jumped in with both feet and got moving.
Now I find myself connecting with others that I haven't even met on the same adoption journey as Jason and myself. I find myself trying to keep family and friends updated on the progress we are making on our adoption journey and all of the crazy steps along the way.
So now I find myself blogging. Never say never, right?
The goal of this blog is to share what is going on with our lives, connect with others who are in the adoption process and encourage/support people who are thinking about heading out on this type of journey also.
